From Tuz Khurmatu to TRT
Ahmet Tuzlu was born in 1980 in Tuz Khurmatu, south of Kirkuk. His father, Hamit Tuzlu, is a well-known Kirkuk singer; his uncle, Ali Marifoğlu, is a leading name in Iraqi Turkmen literature. He grew up with Turkmen oral literature at home and trained in opera at Bilkent and Hacettepe universities.
Since 2015 he has been a Turkish folk music vocalist at TRT Ankara Radio. He performs the folk songs of Kirkuk and Turkmeneli in Türkiye and abroad.
